We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team in Brussels. 

Introduction / Context:
You will be responsible for bridging the gap between the business needs and the Eudamed IT solution. Main responsibilities are from understanding user needs and transforming them into system specifications and features, analyse the data, review and simplify the EUDAMED IT solution processes. Based on the analysis performed, you will identify areas for improvement and define the necessary requirements, scope, objectives and measurement methods. You will also formulate comprehensive documentation required for business and IT teams to ease and speed up analysis, development and support, maintain communication with the development and testing teams, and define measurement systems and follow-up methods to monitor the optimized processes effectively.
The European database on medical devices is an online platform that provides a living picture of the lifecycle of medical devices that are made available in the European Union (EU). It will integrate different electronic systems to collate and process information about medical devices and related companies (e.g. manufacturers). In doing so, EUDAMED aims to enhance overall transparency, through better access to information for the public and healthcare professionals, and coordination between the different Member States in the EU. 

Description of tasks:
  • Analyse business processes, identify process issues, delays, bottlenecks and propose process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study process and system capabilities, write specifications
  • Gather requirements, define scope, business rules and the business domain while clarifying terminology
  • Conduct impact analysis of a requirement or change request
  • Gather, review and analyse business data, including KPIs, reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools
  • Write and Maintain documentation regarding processes and analysis of the system
  • Liaise between various departments and groups
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Collaborate with and drive cross-functional teams
  • Act as liaison between business and Information Technology (IT) teams

Knowledge and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (business analysis, operational research, mathematical modelling, statistics, data analytics or related fields), or 2 years hands-on experience in similar role
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive; great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with data analysis and modelling
  • Knowledge of Python (maintain & update existing application)
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
  • Familiarity with brainstorming and collaborative methods and tools
Represent an advantage:
  • Basic experience with/knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence
  • Experience in change management
  • Certifications like Business Analyst, Agilist, Scrum, Lean/Sig Sigma, aCAP, or other relevant

Other requirements:
  • EU Citizenship.
  • Resident or available to relocate to Belgium.
