We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in Brussels.

Introduction / Context:
As a full-time employee, you will be part of our EUSS Service at the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (SANTE). You will be responsible for creating and maintaining public documentation about the European database on medical devices. EUDAMED is an online platform that provides a living picture of the lifecycle of medical devices that are made available in the European Union (EU). It will integrate different electronic systems to collate and process information about medical devices and related companies (e.g. manufacturers). In doing so, EUDAMED aims to enhance overall transparency, through better access to information for the public and healthcare professionals, and coordination between the different Member States in the EU.

Description of tasks:

• Produce high quality documentation for the information systems.
• Write concise, easy-to-understand documentation that simplifies complex technical concepts into content consumable by all skill levels and roles.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Software Engineers, Developers, Support Engineers and more, to scope and define documentation projects.
• Ensure that documentation is available in time, aligned with the product development and maintenance process.
• Work with internal teams on product and documentation requirements.
• Provide services to all stakeholders according to ITIL best practices, handling and documenting all requests and feedback.

Knowledge and skills:

• Excellent oral and written command of English is required.
• Proven experience in technical writing for software documentation.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
• General IT skills (html, CSS).
• Good knowledge of MS-Office.
• Knowledge of Technical content writing tools.
• Knowledge of wiki and collaborative sites.
• Capability of working in an international/multicultural environment.
• Experience with Paligo is a big plus.
• Experience in a health-related sector is a plus.

Other requirements:

• EU Citizenship.
• Resident or available to relocate to Belgium.
